  • Oakland MBB non-conference schedule...

    Per TV (Terry Vandrovec):

    Oaklands non-conference schedule includes....

    @ Wisconsin 11/18
    @ Kansas 11/25
    @ Memphis 11/30
    @ Michigan State 12/10
    @ Oregon 12/19
    @ Syracuse 12/22

    Other non-cons include...

    Eastern Michigan 11/14
    Rochester College 11/21
    @ Tennessee Tech 11/23
    Central Arkansas 11/28
    Green Bay 12/13
    @ Seattle 12/17
    Alma 12/28

    * 13 non-conference games? I thought the limit was 12 for teams not playing out of the continental United States?

    * at Wisc, at KU and at Memphis in 13 days....ugh. Not only that, but in that span they will play 6 games (4 of them on the road) in 13 days.

    * it will be fun to watch a good Summit team take on the big boys (I'll assume at least a couple of these will be on television) and I think they can pull of an upset....maybe?

    * Green Bay is no gimme, but they should take the rest with ease.

    * my guess, 7-6 in non-conf and 16-2 in Summit....23-8....26-8 after Sioux Falls.

    * is it good or bad to schedule this many powers? They will gain exposure but will is proven that it will make them better? I remember a talented Izzo team playing a brutally tough non-con a few years ago and they never really seemed to recover.

The Rochester College game might be an exhibition game for Oakland.

Alma is a really bad Div.III team.

Rochester College is a very bad christian college team. The women rarely score more than 30 points against Oakland.

Win or lose those tough games should help RPI and get them away from a potential 15 or 16 seed in the Dance. Win a few and a potential slip up in sioux falls could translate into an at-large (waaaaay outside chance I know but still a chance if they were to knock off a few of those big guys).

If I was a season ticket holder I would not be happy with that home schedule.

I don't think they have that many season ticket holders in the first place.

That includes over 14k at a 'home game' against Michigan State at the Palace.
