Very true. I think Jones (PG) is what makes them tick. The guy is a big time leader on the floor and is one of the leaders in the country in assists. The Jacks have played them tough both times they've played, but would not be a favorable draw in the first round. We saw a pretty poor performance by Kangas in Frost, the guy is scarier than Woodside IMO.

In order of who I think the Jacks would want in the first round, most favorable to least: IUPUI -> NDSU -> Oakland -> Oral Roberts.

We'll find out more tomorrow night, but the Jacks in their three meetings with ORU the last two years have not fared well at all against them.

Well, it's very obvious, especially with the courtship with USD, those folks in the league are elated that quality schools, with a good fan base, wanted to be a part. As it turns out, especially with the success of the SDSU and NDSU programs (and the fan support), we have given the league a boost.
Agreed on all accounts. I was on cloud 9 when we (finally) got into a conference...but at the same time I knew full well that SDSU (and NDSU given I used to live 45 minutes east of Fargo) would be the class of any conference that would have us. The SDSU women have been the best thing possibly EVER to happen to the Summit (top 20 ranking, NY Times, ESPN, USAToday, etc). The NDSU men have had an outstanding season that will continue in the field of 64 or NIT. So proud...so proud!

I was going to volunteer but time wouldn't allow it this year. The good news is that my buddy is volunteering and giving me his tix.

Brad Coleman (Augie alum) is one of the heads of the SF Spors Authority. You might know his son Dusty, former O'G QB and basketball guard, former Witchita State SS who was just drafted and signed by the Oakland A's.

[quote=propar80;109121]I think what they did last year in Tulsa and at most other "mid-major" conference tournaments, was that they used the floor that was already in place and stuck a large NCAA white and blue sticker on the half-court circle.[quote]

I think you nailed it. I can find out for sure though...if I remember.

Here is the thing, people around here (Sioux Falls) are talking about this new Arena. They want a big thing with 15,000 seats. Suddenly the Storm games and Stampede games that fill up will seem empty and the great atmosphere will be gone. Skyforce games will seem even more empty. The Summit tourney would be the same way.

Like others have mentioned, SF will take alot of pride in supporting this and hoping to land it for years to come, if that's possible. No offense to the Brookings people, but we have had many discussions here in SF about what SDSU would be like if it were located in SF.

Why do you feel the need to yell "home of the Bison" especially now that you know people take offense to it? I lived in your neck of the woods for a few years and, like us, you guys are real and likeable. Don't do anything to change that.

I'll be rooting for the Bison to win the tourney if we don't.

The new Arena needs to be built and it will happen. It's not being built for the likes of the local minor league teams, but rather a venue that can accomadate first tier concerts, High School Tournaments and Special Events like the Summit League Tournament.

I agree that SF will eventually have a Tyson center type facility that seats 12-17k. I would hope that we do something like the Fargodome so we can include football in there too. I'm just saying, don't be surprised if we eventually lose the Skyforce and Stampede b/c of it.

I remember when they wrapped that convention center around the Arena and put the Sheraton next to it. I couldn't believe they did that b/c it was obvious back then that SF had outgrown the Arena.

Football is meant to be played OUTSIDE!!! ON GRASS! You wouldn't think of listening to music on anything other than vinyl records would you? NO!!! So why would want to play football indoors?! Take your thinking and your fancy iPodmachines and GET OFF OF MY LAWN!!!

Aw c'mon...State needs to bring something to Sioux Falls every year, especially if the league tourney is going to be here. The U of Kansas figured it out, playing games in KC every year. I would assume SF is home to the SDSU's biggest alum base? Have to get SF "jacked up"!
