It was the highest point total in the NCAA this year, passing Davidson star Stephen Curry's 44 twice against North Carolina State and Oklahoma. Woodside also had eight rebounds and eight assists.
"I really wanted our team to win," Woodside said. "I was fighting as hard as I could and trying to get to the free-throw line and have the clock stop so we could score points."
Woodside scored 49 of his 60 points in the final 8:51 of the second half and three overtimes to help NDSU overcome a 63-44 deficit which was SFA's biggest lead of the night.
