I am surprised Denver has not published both head coaches have been dismissed. Wulbrun was on admin leave and Woods is inept hiring her wife to associate head coach in charge of analytics for offense. Both programs seem to be a dumpster fire.

Denver did seem to play better towards the end of the season, when Shammond Williams took over.

Makes you wonder what was happening behind the scenes?

Gabby Wilke is the latest starter to hit the portal in Vermillion. Just losing Larkins was going to result in a major re-build. Add in the underclassmen hitting the portal, and it's going to have to be built from the ground up. Wouldn't want to be in Eighmey's shoes.

USD women lose a few more to the portal today. That coach is in a super tough spot. Basically starting from scratch. They’re going to need to land a lot of transfers and recruits the next few years to rebuild.

Madelyn Bragg from NSU has entered the portal. 6’3” C averaged 17 & 7 in the NSIC. Jacks could really use her experience to add depth in the post. I don’t know if we have available. She only has one year of eligibility.

From what I saw, she has no follows on X from any of the coaching staff.

Post depth would be nice but I'm not sure we are going to have even an extra scholarship next year for a single transfer. Very curious to see how Felchle, Dunn, and Sheppard develop to backup Brooklyn. A younger transfer with more years left would be more appealing.

Yeah, if we have a schollie that would be the spot to fill with a one year player. We are very young at the 5 after Brooklyn, so we will see if AJ and crew make any moves in the portal. They might not be able to with scholarship limits. I just don’t know. Maybe Dunn and Felchle are game ready. Brooklyn can’t be expected to play more than 28 minutes a game.

Didn't the NCAA expand roster limits/scholarships? Did that affect basketball?
One hand points to campus...the other to the liquor store.

It may have helped increase for men up to 15. The WBB is not likely increased. Football at the FCS level may have seen the increase. AJ is not likely watching the portal so much as the player he would consider would require NIL cash similar to those available prior to 2023-24 season.

As noted by OldHare, for those that opt-in, men's increased from 13->15. Women remained at 15.

The new wrinkle on this one is revenue distribution. Wisconsin as an example is already saying they're going to be giving their team less than some of their other women's programs (9% for wbb was the recommended model by the house), so that's causing them to run into issues with their coaching hire.

Per Denver MBB twitter "Denver men’s basketball update: DU Athletics and head coach Jeff Wulbrun have mutually agreed to part ways after Wulbrun’s four seasons with the program." article
