FYI...Mid-Con Name change...

It was brought up in a meeting this afternoon that the Mid Con is looking at changing their name and I was asked to bring up this topic on here. So if anyone has ideas for a new conference name and logo suggest them here. Just passing on the info to those who might have a little interest.

How about either of these...

1) Heartland Conference

-or-

2) Midwestern Conference

-or-

3) Corn Belt League

-or (my favorite, and quite accurate)

4) TORNADO ALLEY!!!

I dunno about those ones. They are looking for something simple, easy to say, and easy to figure out. Remember we got Utah to Lousiana to Michigan and back to the Dakotas to cover. That's over half the country.

Heartland Conference sounds all right. It's generic enough to describe the conference's broad geography, but indicates schools that aren't on the coasts. Anything with "American" or similar would be problematic as the MAC and Conference USA are already around.

I'll think about it some more, though........

Heartland sounds soft anyway. We need something that sounds strong, look at some of the names that we are competing against...

I had the same idea but I thoiught against it.

I did think of a name of a very-short lived Division I Conference back in early 1990s, the Great Midwest Conference.
