Suppose they could shoot for a 2/28 game to maximize downtime before Summit Tourney, but is travel worth the risk when they're essentially playing for bragging rights?

They'd have to play 3/5 whether they're #1 or #2 seed, and they'd risk missing tourney if they have player or staff test positive.

I think you underestimate the desire to be the #1 seed and conference (co)champion. The coach may even earn a spiff for a share of the Summit Championship. Have the yote WBB had any games postponed to their own Covid? I am guessing the yotes want to make this game happen.

Interesting to see how this is handled. It was one thing to make up 1 game, but now 2? Does WIU take losses as “no contests?” I can’t see anyway there is time to make this up with Summit League looming.

It wouldn't surprise me if they prioritize rescheduling the USD game since it may affect the # 1 seed.

True, but WIU may argue that they are trying to get to the 6 seed and avoid a SD school round 1. They would certainly much rather play Omaha/Denver as winning those 2 combined with a NDSU loss to UND gets them that slot.

But I hope USD gets the game because a number of their fans might explode from losing the championship due to moving to win % if their game against WIU is considered a No Contest.

The USD game could also get priority because it was the first one to get postponed. But this may all be a moot point if Western isn't able to play their Saturday game.. If that gets postponed, I think their regular season is over.

The league says that makeup “games will be prioritized in the order they were lost”, so I’d think WIU plays USD - if anyone. You’d think an announcement would have to be made very soon if it’s going to happen.

Western suddenly becomes the League's most influential team -- they have the prospect of influencing both title and lowest-seed elimination game, assuming Omaha and Denver both play their upcoming games against St. Thomas.

Since the Omaha game is scheduled for Thursday, the Leathernecks may need additional tests prior to Denver. Then the yote game could be considered for Monday/Tuesday. The Leathernecks need 8 players available.

This is the Leatherneck schedule for missed games. The Omaha game will be considered a "no contest". The game against South Dakota from last Saturday will be played on Monday, 2/28.

                          The seeding is nearly complete:
                          #1/#2 SDSU/USD
                          #3 Kansas City
                          #4 ORU
                          #5 UND
                          #6 NDSU
                          #7 WIU
                          #8 Denver
The only item remaining is who(SDSU/USD) plays the first game on Saturday which is likely a result of the NET formula. The 6pm game at Macomb plays on Monday.

NET rankings are updated daily. I'm not sure if the Summit League will use Monday's or Tuesday's rankings when making the bracket. I guess we'll find out if they put one out tomorrow after the game or not. Currently, SDSU sits at 34 and usd at 36. Kansas St sits between the SD schools with Kansas, FGCU, and Missouri St below usd.

The NET ranking reflecting USD's Monday game will come out on Tuesday, so I'm sure that's the one they will use.

I know nothing about how the NET ranking works but i find it hard to believe a win over Western tommorrow would move them past us.
