ORU defense must not be practicing yet. The Rams shot 59% from the field and +9 on the boards.
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

ORU losing Obanor hurts them more than most of their supporters think, I think. Not that they can't learn their way around it as the season goes on. But they were a 2 man band at the end of last season.

It's going to take them a while.

NDSU beats a bad Cal Poly team by 3. There were playing without Sam Griesel, who underwent surgery for an unknown medical issue today ( not an injury ).

We knew they’d struggle without their leading scorers playing this year but USD is going to need to find an offensive weapon ASAP or it may be a long year for them.

Kansas City leads Missouri by 20 under 12 to go.

Roos hang on over Mizzou 80-66. Grad transfer guard Gilyard II put up 28 tonight for the Roos.

The men have a new face showing up in the strong OOC record.
                      1) WIU has 9-2 record. The season started with a close win over Nebraska in Lincoln. DePaul & Eastern Michigan are the 2 losses. They go on the road to Denver to start the conference with a stop at Omaha on the way home. They have 1 more OOC at Iowa on 12/29.
                      2) SDSU is 9-4. The Roos will visit Frost on Monday with a a good defense.
3)NDSU is 8-4. UNLV, Creighton, Montana ST, & Arizona handled the bison. They have a 3 game winning streak entering conference. They visit UND Monday.
4)USD is 7=4. They have lost to Nebraska, Drake, San Jose St, & Northern Colorado.
5)ORU is 6-5. 3 of the Golden Eagle wins are against lower division. Tulsa is the big win. Ok State beat them by 1. There is still plenty of talent in Mabee Center, but most teams watch Abmas much closer. The Jackrabbits will get their turn Wednesday in Brookings.
6)Kansas City is 5-5. They have a solid defense which is unrelenting. Shooting the ball is sometimes a problem. They beat Missouri on the road. Minnesota, Iowa, SIUE, Morehead St, and Arkansas St defeated the Roos. Monday SDSU will host the Roos at Frost.
7)St Thomas is 5-6. They have a shooter or two. They beat SIUE & Niagra. Montana St, Chicago St, & YSU are among the losses. The first Summit game is at Omaha. The Tommies Coach John Tauer is an alum with 81% winning record.
8)Denver is 4-9. IUPUI & Houston Baptist were 2 of the wins for the Pios. Wyoming is among those who defeated Denver. Coach Wulbrun was most recently 5 years an assistant at Stanford. His progress may be able to keep up with Jeter in Macomb, but it is not likely.
9)UND is 4-9. Their 2 D1 wins are Troy and Montana. The fighting hawks will need to hurry to get off the ground.
10)Omaha is 1-10. The lone win is Hastings College. There are some tough losses and there are some not even close. Coach Hansen has a steep climb this year.. We will see how the Tommies do in Omaha for the first game.

The Leathernecks could be the real thing and stay in the top half. The Roos could challenge for the top half if shooting comes around. The fun starts Monday.

The first day for Summit Conference had some fun things going. The Tommies traveled to Omaha for their first Summit game and their first Summit win. Miller and Nelson may be the names to remember as they dropped in 22 points each for the Tommies. The Mavs could have troubles finding a D1 victory this week. 80-73 was the final.
The Leathernecks found more resistance than expected in Denver as they win 84-80 in overtime over the Pios. Denver draws 682 attendance.
Oral Roberts 82 USD 73 in Vermillion. Perrot-Hunt(21), Kamateros(20), & Fuller(19) were scoring for the yotes and who only had 3 turnovers as a team. They only shot 22% from 3pt on 18 shots. Abmas scored 32 with 4 assists too. Yotes could be coming together as team.

SDSU went 2-0 & NDSU went 1-0 the first week. There will be a loss for 1 team next week as the SD teams travel to ND.
KC, ORU, WIU, St Thomas, Denver, & Omaha go 1-1. Omaha/Denver travel to ORU/KC which could break up the log jam as the home teams should be favored here. WIU hosts St Thomas for their game which ought to favor Leathernecks in Macomb.
UND at 0-1 will have some excitement hosting the SD teams next week.
Yotes are checking in at the conference base after 1 week with 0-2 start of home court losses. They will have to win 1 game next week as they begin a 3 game road trip with the Jackrabbits the following week. It could be a long & hard climb to top half of conference. Early season grumbling about Lee can be heard from the south.
