Some of us are still holding out hope that Augie does not join the Summit League. Interest in the Summit League will decline. Some complain about the conference's dismal rating this year...just wait and see what happens if Superbunny's prediction is accurate.

If, ok, when Augie gets invited to the Summit League it will be interesting to see the support they get it at the SLT. Obviously, it is in their town which is huge. In addition, it will be interesting to see how many people that are there supporting SDSU or USD will switch to Augie. It has been convenient for Sioux Falls people to make Augie their D2 team and SDSU or USD their D1 team. That will change.

If you don't already love Mike Daum, you will after listening to his interview with @jimrome. As a mom of a future Jackrabbit, I'm grateful for all Mike @dauminator24 has done for @caleb_grill0.

Why would it only matter to players from Sioux Falls? The opportunity to play in front a large crowd does not exist in many mid-major conference tournaments or even P5 Conference Tournaments. I think if you were to speak with recent SDSU recruits and perhaps other Summit League member recruits that tournament has an impact on recruiting.

I agree with this but I also think many people underestimate the coach. Players don't commit to a school they commit to a coach. We may wish it was the other way around but truth is it's not.

At the same time, I assume a negative affect on other schools recruiting.

Pretty sure I remember from a Stater's Luncheon that DJJ was here on a recruiting trip during the SLT. You're kidding yourself if you don't think SDSU takes advantage of its fan support for recruiting. That stuff isn't just important to local recruits, its important to everyone who puts on a college uniform. They want to play in games that matter in front of fans that care, and SDSU can offer that more than anyone else in the league.

Every coaching change in men’s basketball can open new opportunities in terms of recruiting. If the right change is made, the new coach bring a whole new network of recruiting opportunities, that happened when TJ replaced Nagy. I often wonder if Coach Nagy felt, he had got the program to its highest level, and was time to move on. My theory is based what I observed. TJ with DJJ seems to have done a better job recruiting.
