2 guards from SDSU make the early first team selection.

Also Dykman is projected freshman of the year.

If Dykman plays at that level this team will be scary good! I thought he would be a redshirt candidate?

My biggest concern is losing Larson. Although Theissen was serviceable, he wasn't near the offensive threat that Larson was. Larson demanded double teams most of the time and that opened up a lot for others. IMO, our offense seemed to struggle when Larson was on the bench.

Cody was also very good on the defensive end.

I'll be interested to see how our post players developed over the off season. I think that's going to be the biggest factor of this teams potential.

He could be the same type of addition Telly has been. We may also see some good things with Daum.

I think that is the great unknown. Obviously, we lose an all-conference player in Larson but we have a very talented roster returning. With Daum, Devine, Doyle, and Thiessen all able to play the 5 we are deep there. One of those guys will emerge as the right fight but we have plenty of big bodies along with Devine's length. We have a ton of guys that can score the ball. We need defense and rebounding inside. If we get that we are going to be really tough to beat!

This season is going to be a blast!

Remember last year when we were talking about essentially three different seasons?

Not this year! These guys will hit the ground running and have a hot start to the year. The tempo is going to be fun to watch and with so many scoring options it will be fun to see how teams try to stop us and who steps up each night to lead the team. Marshall is going to be the key. I look for him to really feel comfortable in his role both as a scorer and distributer that makes everyone on the team better. He will get Deondre a lot of open looks for that line-drive shot of his!

If the players make the usual leap forward from freshman to sophomore year then Telly, Flatten, Severyn, Doyle, and Thiessen are going to be fun to watch! Who knows what we will get out of the freshman? Is there a Telly in that bunch?

Going to be fun! Do you have your tickets?

I like this aspect of the season as well. In theory, there should not be much messing around. Watching assorted odd pieces slowly fall into place last year was interesting and all, but this is how you want to see it set up. Hopefully the guys have a chip on their shoulder after the slip-up in Sioux Falls and can carry the momentum from that NIT win into this season.

Outside of benson at oakland who still had a solid pg when he was there summit league for the most part like lots of college basketball is great guard play. If we have that it might hide the loss of larson a bit more. Marhsall and parks and company have a lot going for it. Could be a fun high schoring group. If anyone can fill in even part way getting rebounds and plugging the lane we will be just fine. I don't think any one else in the league has the guard talent and depth we have. At least off the top of my head. Ndsu with out LA will be hard to relpace.

                      Re: Summit League Preseason 2015-16

CBS Sports ranked all 351 teams:
                      http://www.cbssports.com/collegebask...eam-from-1-351

                      79. South Dakota State: The Jackrabbits will have three returning senior starters, but they do lose their best player in Cody Larson. Still, they'll be the favorites in the Summit League.
                      132. North Dakota State: Replacing Lawrence Alexander won't be easy, but it never is to replace a conference's player of the year. Still, four-year starter Kory Brown will help stem the tide, and North Dakota high school's all-time leading scorer A.J. Jacobson could step into more of a featured role.
                      190. Denver: The Pioneers are the slowest team in America, and that likely won't change any time soon under Joe Scott. He'll have an experienced group coming back that should perform a bit better than last year.
                      195. IPFW: THE MASTODONS. Stumbled at the end of last season by losing four of their last five. Loses seven guys total between seniors and transfers. Will dip a little bit from 16-15 in '14-15.
                      199. South Dakota: The Coyotes will have six seniors getting meaningful minutes, so another 17- or 18-win season is possible.
                      203. Oral Roberts: We think this team is going to be about the same as last season, when it finished 199 in KenPom. Obi Emegano returns, which is huge, because the program lost four guys to transfer.
                      254. IUPUI: There was improvement here under Jason Gardner, going from six to 10 wins in his first year in charge with a lot of close losses. Look for another solid uptick here, but they're still not quite Tourney bound.
                      316. Nebraska-Omaha: They play at one of the fastest tempos in America, and will have some returning experienced seniors. They won't compete at the top of the Summit, but maybe they can reach mid-league?
                      326. Western Illinois: They won one of their last 15 games last season, so it's hard to say that momentum is on their side. Look for hopeful offensive improvement.

Agreed, just like Dominique Morrison a couple years back.
