Re: 2014-2015 Summit League Preseason Preview

I think the FW prediction simply comes down to the fact that even the true Summit League insiders have no idea who will win the league this year. There are way too many unknowns for too many teams. ORU jumping back in really clouds the water. The prognosticators have to pick someone, so they pick the team that had NDSU beat until the last few seconds of last year's title game.

I have no questions or comments about the poll except, without having played a game, they named a newcomer of the year! How do we know Parks will adjust so quickly?

It's a prediction...that's all. Somebody has to be named Newcomer of the Year. All Newcomer candidates are in the same boat as Parks...none of them have played a game in the Summit yet.

Yes a prediction, I get that and if its wrong, then its quickly forgotten unless the guy Chris Dortch puts some money on it.

I think it is logical to name a JUCO or a transfer for Newcomer of the Year since they have some experience beyond high school ball. George Marshall could be a sleeper candidate even though he is not eligible until after fall semester.

I would think that a guy capable of playing in 31 games (and starting six) as a freshman at Wisconsin could be more than a "sleeper" pick for newcomer of the year in a league like the Summit. I can't wait to see Marshall and Parks working together at the guard positions this season.
