.?? That news story is very old. Richard Pitino is the head coach not Monson.

Sorry about that. I could not get it off before you got it. However, Miles may be his new boss.

That's an interesting change. Coach Mo's style tend to slow the game down while Coach Miles prefers to run. But, probably a similar comment was justified when Coach Mo joined Dan Monson's staff at Minnesota: Monson's teams at Gonzaga didn't slow it down. In any event, if the story is accurate, that's a loss for the Summit League. Molinari's teams were always at least competitive.

Good for him but bad for the Summit. He's a helluva coach, but on the bright side maybe WIU will change their style of play and we won't have to listen to him whine about the Summit Tournament being in Sioux Falls anymore. I can only imagine how much more he will be making their than he would at WIU. Does anyone know how much he is getting paid now?

Molinari is a defensive mastermind, good fit with Miles. Huge blow for WIU, say what you want but that style is perfect for a place like WIU.

WIU needs to invest in their basketball program or they will be permanently living in the Summit's cellar.

The Summit League will need to increase some base salaries or watch coaches move out sooner than desired. The yotes ponied up a bit more money(50% more than Boots) to get Smith. IUPUI lost a good coach in Ron Hunter a few years ago. Saul could be courted by another mid major easily. Last year the pundits had Nagy and Kampe as deal of the year in regards to head coach performance and pay. The one thing that appears to be ongoing is that a university will pay the replacement coach more money than the one leaving. If you like the coach you have-you can keep him, he will cost more than you wanted to pay though.

I want to wish Coach Molinari the best of luck at Nebraska. He did so much for WIU & the Macomb community. We can't thank you enough, Mo.

It isn't confirmed that he is heading to Nebraska, yet. He has only resigned.

With Molinari officially out, I wonder if Garret Covington will stick around.
