He's obviously taken the Intro to Whining course that Chris Paul teaches at IPFW.

It is good that they are paying attention to the local team. Ft Wayne needs a better following. I might even agree with him on Jasick.

I agree that Jasick should have been the coach of the year, but i'm not sold on Bland even though he is a senior. There are a lot of good guards in this league. LA, Carlson, Carter, Olson, Bos, etc.

Didn't Jim Molinaria win it last year instead of Scott Nagy? Both teams tied for 1st but SDSU won the tie-breaker

Might be the first time I've heard NDSU has better basketball facilities than somebody else. I realize IPFW plays in a dump but it can't be much worse than the BSA.

IPFW could be very solid if they invested more resources into their program.

NDSU is the most prominent program in their recruiting area?

That area must only consist of North Dakota then.

Yeah he argues about voters not being credible then he states that NDSU has one the best basketball facilitates. Seems to me that he isn't that credible.

If you care about the outcome of the voting, then don't abstain from voting and then bitch about the outcome.

Whoa, dude. If he is a voter, its just like the circle of life.

He says in the article that reporters shouldn't vote for the awards, so he doesn't. Also, SanDakota isn't entirely accurate. The reporter only says that NDSU has better facilities than IPFW, not "one of the best in the Summit League."

I actually agree with his premise, but the execution is poor. He says that SIDs and media should not vote for awards because they are poorly informed, due to only seeing road teams a limited amount of times.

Virtually all of the members of the media see an opposing team in this league play 40 minutes an entire season, as I did Denver, for example. The SIDs 80 minutes. Yet, I'm supposed to pass judgment on a Pioneer player in relation to others? That's foolish to ask me to accurately do that, and that is why I abstain from the voting process annually.
I actually agree with that. Many media members (not all) are not informed properly enough to accurately hand out post season awards. You see it at all levels in all sports. Fans aren't any better.

So I am with him on that.

HOWEVER, he uses his own opinion on who should have won awards to make his point. Does anyone see the logical fallacy in that? By his own admission, reporters don't get to see enough basketball. He even abstains from voting because he doesn't feel informed enough to make accurate decisions. How can he make the argument that the IPFW coach and the point guard deserve to be on any post season list when he is admittedly not informed enough to vote? You can't set up your entire point using your own opinion that those two guys got snubbed, when you then say your opinion shouldn't matter.

                              Plus this at the end:

Watch Bland play and Jasick coach throughout this week's Summit League Tournament and you'll see all the evidence of that you'll ever need.
They ain't beating SDSU in round two, guy.

Well its sort of a tricky arguement that Bland only scored 9 points in 2 games against SDSU. should SDSU SID and media vote for him even though there were other guys who played SDSU better stats wise who would seem more deserving of their vote? Blands numbers are good % wise but his overall stats just dont have the wow factor. I could see getting in over Bos as about the only one but thats still close since Bos scored more but was on a crappier team.
