didnt expect WIU and UND to get more votes then us. will give the guys something to prove and show they are getting no repsect which is ok. let people overlook us. let NDSU deal with the pressue of being ranked so high and Denver having to deal with being the new kid on the block.

Surprised to see the Bison start out that high. Last year the Jacks started out at #12 coming off an NCAA appearance with almost everyone returning. Plus Nate was a nationally known player which is something NDSU doesn't have.

The votes for WIU really surprises me. They lost 2 of the best players in their schools history. They cant score, and their defense wont be near as good as its been the past 2 years. I think they will finish in the lower half of the league imo. I'm fine with UND getting some more votes then us since Troy Huff is back for them. I think he missed most of the season last year, including the game at Frost. I personally think Denver is a little over-hyped. One of their best players from last year transferred to Baylor. And like you said, they are the new kids on the block. They are still deserving to be a top 2 team in the Summit, but they aren't going to take the Summit with ease like most analysts are thinking (Eamonn Brennan). I also think NDSU is ranked to high in this poll. They are a top 15 team, not a top 10. They have to prove that they can score consistently. If they have the scoring droughts like they did last year with Braun, they wont be making the big dance.

By not getting a lot of attention this preseason will more than likely benefit this years team. They wont have the "target" on their back anymore since Denver and NDSU are getting a lot of love. Id rather be under-the-radar and sneak up on people come March.

It's one thing for coaches who have no clue who we are and have never played us not put us in, but it'd be interesting to find out where coaches in the know (Kampe, Oakland and Phillips, NDSU) had us.

If the football team has taught me one thing about top 25 lists, it's I don't mind being left out to start the year. It's apparently to much to handle.

Obviously IPFW is ranked because of their record but they have played one of the weakest schedules in the country .(336 out of 351).

I'm really looking forward to the NDSU IPFW match-up on Thursday. I want to see if IPFW is an actual legit team. They haven't really played the best opponents besides Dayton, Illinois, Bowling Green, and EKU. The only win against those 4 teams is against BG by 5.

The 22 point beat down (at home!) IPFW recently took from E. Kentucky gives me serious doubts about their ability to live up to their record. I think NDSU will handle them fine but I'll definitely be rooting for the upset.

Bison hold at #10 this week. IPFW slides 1 notch to #24 with the loss to the yotes. No other Summit teams on the radar for votes.

Saw on CBS sports that the Summit is rated 15th (out of 32). Sandwiched between Conference usa and the Colonial. I thought it was surprizing that the West Coast is 9th, ahead of MVC and MWC..
