I hereby offer to become the first Jacks fan to play the "no respect" card for the 2013-14 SDSU men's basketball team. (Looks around to see if somebody else has done it first for this season . . .)
It's OK for a team to go into a season thinking they should be getting more respect. Makes them play with an attitude that they have something to prove.
When you graduate a player responsible for 75% of your offense people are going to expect you to prove you can replace him. Denver has great talent and potential, looking forward to seeing them in Frost arena. I hate the bison, looking forward to beating them at least twice this season.
We are here to add what we can to life, not get what we can from life. -Sir William Osler
We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.
When you return 4 starters and get a potential big time transfer in a 6'9 pf from a power confrence and are back to back confrence champs its got to sting a little. Hope the team uses this as the no respect card and chip they need to play with. Don't have to worry as much as being the targeted team.
With denver I don't care who you are they are the new kids who have to travel a lot in the summit to some tough places and its a big learning curve regardless of how good they might be. Ndsu really their window is now. With another heavy senior class and tons of experience back no excuses this year. But my prediction is the bison find another way to fall short of expectations this year. Start strong and fade again.

We return 3 starters...but I agree with your post. Our men/women are a combined 23-3 in the Summit Tourney. I think we'll be ok.

Agreed. The line in the NDSU section about Oakland moving to the Horizon and now the way to the top is open . Sorry, who won the last two tournaments?

The additions of Denver and Cody Larson, plus the fact that the Tournament is in Sioux Falls, tell me that there is at least a 50% chance that there will be no Dance for the Bison again this year.
The unknown of this season has me really excited. Some things to consider that will help us in the early part of the season as we are breaking in our new lineups is the fact that their isn't a true scouting report, or film out there on us, hopefully this will help us out some. Another thing is that we are going to be running an actual motion offense again this year, last year we got to caught up in iso's and pick & rolls with Nate that we didn't really run an offense when Nate was out and our offense went stagnant. The last time we consistently ran some motion offense was back in Nate's junior year. With all of our shooters, and athleticism, the motion offense could be scary...out motion offense was terrified opposing coaches at times. We will also be one of the only teams in the conference that will have a 4-man, big man rotation, and they are all athletes and not big lugs. We got some new guys, but I see no reason why we can't compete for the Summit, especially come tourney time. Like I already said though, I am so excited to watch the development and growth of the team this year....it's gonna be a ride of up's and down's.
