Hofstra did kick 4 players off their team very soon after we played them, 2 of them starters. While still a bad loss, it wasn't as terrible as it may seem on paper.

Yeah, that Hofstra loss is an anchor RPI-wise. Imagine if Chad White's miracle 3-pointer at the buzzer did not go in against #341 UND. We would have been sunk for good! Of course, you could look at the Alabama game the opposite way. This RPI-building stuff really adds to the fun (or misery) of the non-conference schedule. Hopefully we will make a big splash with a win tonight.

It's early yet, but here are the current RPI standings: http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_Men.html

A few highlights from that list:

    SDSU #162.
    NDSU #73.
    Oakland #164.
    WIU #198
    KC #222
    USD #269.
    IPFW #278.
    IUPUI #286.
    UNO #294.
Once the OOC season ends, there is going to be very little upward mobility for the Summit. Big wins are needed this week!

A few other RPI's worth noting:
    New Mexico #7
    Minnesota #11
    Alabama #45
    Belmont #25
    Montana #174.
    Denver #255.
    UND #341.
    ORU #132

We obviously have a chance to make a big jump if we win one or both of the next two games.

Leathernecks are real deal and they are gaining confidence. They open conference with Oakland. Good games coming.

You might want to take a look at what they've done this year...

They are also #15 in the Mid-Major Poll and #12 in the ESPN Mid-Major Power Rankings

The conference RPI is down four or five spots. ORU is much better than UNO. Also, very few signature wins for the conference.

Western Illinois seems to be scoring more points this season. Tough defense and now offensive production too?

I went back and checked last year's records and compared to this year.

Summit teams are 42-49 in non-conference games so far.

Last year on the season, Summit teams went 78-63 in non-conference play.
