  • SUU to drop Baseball after 2012 Season

    http://www.thespectrum.com/article/2...text|Frontpage

SUU can't find a league home for their baseball team, and the Summit doesn't want to retain the long-distance trip.

Don't be surprised if UND does the same thing, since they will run into the same Big Sky issue.

UNC is the only? Big Sky baseball team? IIRC, Sac St. also has baseball, but I believe they play in the WAC or Pac-12 as affiliate.

I'd like to see UND and/or UNC become an affiliate for baseball in the Summit.

Maybe UNC, as for UND we have enough teams located in the frozen tundra so I have to say no.

Probably have a better shot at games not being cancelled due to weather if its UNC.

Yeah, the average high in the month of March in Greeley is basically in the mid 50s. They'd be a solid add when you consider travel wouldn't be too bad either.

Oh I'd definitely prefer UNC but just feeling a bit anxious about adding another baseball team to the conference to keep us safe for the auto bid.
