  • Summit League Preseason Previews/Polls

Figured we've been getting too much thread drift in the MBB section (I'm guilty of it too) about preseason rankings so here is a thread dedicated to it in the Summit League section.

TV posted on his twitter account the CBS Summit League Preview, and they have the Jacks at #2 and Nate Wolters being league MVP.

    Rankings are as follows:

    1. ORU
    2. SDSU
    3. Oakland
    4. IUPUI
    5. IPFW
    6. Southern Utah
    7. NDSU
    8. USD
    9. UMKC
    10. WIU

If you see any other previews/polls, feel free to post them in this thread.
If you think nobody cares about you, try missing a couple of payments.

Its a nice article but this is what I loved Nagy saying about Wolters

"He's the best player I've ever coached," Nagy said. "He could play anywhere and everybody knows it. We went into Iowa and he killed Iowa [25 points, nine assists]."

It's Wolters' work ethic that thrills Nagy most.
"He loves the gym," Nagy said. "He stays in it. I've never coached a player who loves the game more than him."
Nagy sees that love on a nightly basis. The team ends practice at about 4 p.m. Wolters will go have a quick dinner and then study. At 9 p.m., he is back on the court.
"It's unbelievable," Nagy said. "He's a unique player."

I love hearing that. Personally I feel that Dykstra will be better then Wolters stats wise atleast if not next year, 2 years he will be. Its great to see mens basketball back to moving to the top where they should be.

No way Dykstra will put up better stats than Wolters. Nate will outscore him, and put up better rebound numbers compared to Dykstra's assist numbers.

Either way stats wise that is a good problem to have. They are both extremely talented Summit League players and NCAA D-1 players for that matter. Please note, excluding other team members from this post doesn't mean I discount their talent.

I'm hoping that in 2 years Dykstra will be outscoring Wolters. Wolters led us in scoring because last year no one really had the ability to create their own shot. They lived off of Nate's penetration/kick out. Hopefully by the time he is a junior Dykstra can create. With at least 2 people able to do that and an arsenal of 3 pt shooters we could be a pretty special team.

The official Summit League preseason poll and all conference teams are out.

                      http://www.thesummitleague.org/ViewA...CLID=205314393

Jacks land in at #3 and receive 1 first place vote.

Nate Wolters is first team all conference and Jordan Dykstra is 2nd team.

Imo dykstra had a better freshman year and if peopke get the biggest stride their second year I think he will surpass nate as our best player. If not this year for sure next. Just my opinon wacthing them play. Either way they btoh very well can finish 1st and 2nd all time greats at sdsu. Espicially if they can take us dancing.

He had a great year because of Nate. He is an awesome player, but Nate is our best player. Teams will go into games game planning against Nate and if you think otherwise, I don't know what to say.

Right now after being in the program for 2 years. 3 years from now look back and dykstra will be have a better career imo. I don't know why you want to argue about it. They are on the same team so don't get to worked up. I said it was my opinion if you missed you already have it marked in the books nate is the greatest ever. I just feel differently. And down the road there will be another great player who will be better then these two.

Dykstra started the year on the bench and stepped up big as the year went on and played a great tourny imo. Nate has been great no doubt but dykstra has a higher ceiling to get better.

This is Wolter's team. No doubt about it.
