    Oakland v Michigan State

    Oakland playing Michigan State nearly even in the first half.
    MSU 39 OU 35

    During the halftime break, ESPN did a little feature on OU's Keith Benson. It was noted he passed on the NBA draft after a thumb injury and deciding to return to the Golden Grizzlies for his senior year.

    Michigan State has more athletes so a logical prediction is the Spartans pull away in the second half. But, Oakland is playing well.

    Oakland nearly did it: Final was MSU 77, OU 76

    Nice representation of the Summit League by Coach Kampe and his crew. Keith Benson is a nice player. A lot of Summit teams won't have an answer for him.

      Oakland loses by one, 77-76. Two points would have given the Golden Grizzlies a win over the #7 team in the country.

      The Summit League is getting tougher and tougher . . . my prediction/hope that it will pull even with the Valley in men's basketball might just come true sooner than later . . .

      SDSU is a lot better this year, but the rest of the conference (with certain exceptions) is getting better, too.

      It ain't gonna come easy, but when it does (and it will), it'll be sweet, won't it?

            The television color guy on FoxDetroit commented that Kampe cracked one of the boards by the bench when he stomped his foot late in the second half.

              The guy has just got to quit being so negative! (On second thought, maybe he needs to join Nagy and Hunter and coach without shoes in a game like that.) Congrats to Oakland BTW, and I agree with the earlier comments that the league as a whole is going to be very tough this year (much like the MVFC was this year for football).
