Bison show good run defense on first drive but can't stop the quick passes. Il St makes it's field goal and go up 3 to 0. Pretty good drive for IL ST

Ill State coach commented before the game that SDSU and NDSU are mirror images of each other with the exception of the skill positions where he thought NDSU had more speed.

Mertens connected on a long pass to WR Williams now 7-3 Bison. Merten can throw and this Williams guy has got some speed. He was way out in front of the ISU secondary.

The Bison D against bubble passes has not been good and that is really a vulnerable part of their game. If you are watching, even Scott Miller does not deny that weakness.

Illinois State drives again to take a 17-7 lead. NDSU's defense is as terrible as all the bisonville posters have said.

Half time, Illinois State is controlling at this point. NDSU seems to have the talent, but they are not getting the production they should. Thank you Mike Breske SDSU alum and D coordinator at NDSU.

Yes they are, they cannot tackle. It's what Stig preaches, keep a 5 yard completion a 5 yard gain. Ill State has been consistently turning 1 yard passes into 6 yard gains by dragging Bison defenders.

NDSU doesn't seem to react quickly. For example on those WR screens, our LBs were there shadowing the receiver. NDSU's linebackers seem to be five or six yards away when the WRs start running. I'd keep throwing those until NDSU shows they can stop it.

And as the radio guys just mentioned: No pressure on Brown by NDSU. He's just playing pitch and catch.

Yeah, I've got to say, I thought the bisonville posters were going a little over the top about how poor their D is....but maybe they really are that poor on D.

I fully expected to log on and see Bison up.
