  • UNI's backup QB enters transfer portal

Former UNI starting QB now the UNI #2, Will McElvain, announced his recruitment is open (yep, mid-season) and he's in the transfer portal. He'll have two seasons of eligibility. Read about it in today's (October 11) Des Moines Register:

Wonder if he'd go to WIU or the 'Yotes.

Regardless, I tended to see him as more of a running threat than a passer, and I'm disappointed Jacks won't face him on Hobo Day, although it sounds like he's been injured anyway and might not've played

Just as long as the derailment occurs after an Oct. 30th win

UNI may wish that they had him back.

I think they'd be more apt to wish for OL reinforcements first.

The Jacks may have double digit sacks on Hobo Day
