    Re: FCS Championship Game

During the half-time show, ESPN's Andy Katz inserts a quick word on Bison basketball, noting NDSU bumped off "rival SDSU ... Saul Phillips getting it done!" said Katz as they went to commercial.

Well, at least they're talking about us! Andy Katz has become very knowledgeable about SDSU, and now, NDSU, basketball and about the Summit League in general. He'll be watching for the rematch at Frost.

Of course the Bison get bailed out by a holding call

Ugh, the officiating has been atrocious this game. First a bad call a terrible PI call against Marcus Williams on third down, then, on the same drive, they call a Tim Flanders TD back on a hold that occurred well after he was through the line. At least their suckness has cancelled their calls out.

I agree with Kemo so far: bad officiating has been balanced...both teams getting bad calls.

Overall, I think that football fan having no preference for who wins the game, finds this game as a good one to watch.

As the announcers states, a "Classic" North Dakota State drive. Bison take the lead on a drive that featured 2 passes and 8 runs. 17-10 Bison early in the third.

NDSU TD....no, may not give it to him. He touched the ball down in the endzone on a reach but knee must have been down.

Jensen got it on the next play.

              16-10 Bison. PAT coming up.

The play that set it up was a run by #4 Ryan Smith. Smith is somewhat -- only somewhat -- like the great do-anything player for Iowa several years ago, Tim Dwight (remember his TD on a kickoff return in SuperBowl XXXIII), or Montana's Mariani from a few years ago (we know him well!). Smith is relatively small but very fast, obviously has all the right instincts. And, he's a junior so we'll see him next year.

              PAT good for NDSU. 17-10

After watching this game, I am convinced the Jacks need to add some misdirection plays to our offensive schemes.

Wow a Flea-Flicker...that wouldn't worked for sdsu with the leading rusher in the country ever I'm sure. Yes I am still bitter about our last game and the pathetic coaching effort.

                      Re: FCS Championship Game

Bison players ask to go for it on 4th and 1 from the 2 and Bohl obliges. TD and a muffed hold leads to an impromptu 2 point conversion. This is getting away from Sam Houston.

Bison CONTROLLING the line is scrimmage. 24-10....scratch that, a botched PA attempt leads to a lucky two-points, 25-10.

And now a jump-pass! That leads to another TD for the Bison. Offensive Creativity!

Touchdown again, 39-13. First time that an NC rematch has gone to the defending champs. Congrats Bison.
