  • Early offer potential?

    http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/e60/n...ory?id=5386830

A story about a 13 year old kid who will probably play college baseball. She might go beyond that. She hits over .600, has 65 mph fastball, and a knuckleball that she learned from Joe Niekro.
An ardent supporter of the hometown team should go to a game prepared to take offense, no matter what happens.Robert Benchley

    Re: Early offer potential?

On July 9, 1998, Borders became one of the first women to start a minor league game when she took the mound for the Duluth-Superior Dukes in an 8-3 loss to the Sioux Falls Canaries in the Northern League.
    That's an odd tidbit......

I saw Ila Borders pitch in Sioux Falls a time or two. Got her autograph after one game. Nice woman, and she handled the spotlight with a lot of class. Obviously she was a good athlete. But, ultimately, her pitches got jackhammered by hitters.
