  • 11 y/o Rejects Pirates' Offer for Paul Skenes Rookie Card

From twitter (also in espn story): The Pirates' offer included:
    - Two Pirates season tickets behind home plate for the next 30 years
    - Meet & Greet with Paul Skenes
    - Two Paul Skenes signed jerseys
    - Pirates game with Livvy Dunne in her suite
    - Much more

The kid who drew the card (which also features Skenes' autograph and a game worn patch) is a collector is from California so probably has no interest in the season tickets. Some people suggested he sell the tickets for the next 30 years including one fan who thinks people would pay $500 / game allowing the kid to earn 2.4 million. Athletes buying their own cards I guess is a thing, with some card collectors reaching out to players specifically to see if they'd be interested in buying the card.

This reminds me of the Dodger's kind of scummy tactics they used for Ohtaini's 1st Dodger HR ball. For his 50/50 ball the fan was offered 300k which people felt like a lowball offer.
