The mother of our soon to be adopted baby girl is being induced today. It is in the family, so we get to take custody immediately.

This will be our second child. Our baby boy was born in June and passed away at just over 2 mo. old. He had a genetic disorder and hence the adoption now. It was a tough road, but are exited to have a child again. Needless to say our appreciation of the health care industry, specifically NICU and PICU staffs has grown immensly.

That's a very short summary to say the least. We would appreciate your prayers for the mother and the baby. She is just over 35 weeks so it is likely they will be in the NICU but just as a routine procedure to get the weight increased.

Abigail Marion was born last night. 4 lbs 10 oz. As expected she's in the NICU but she and the mother are healthy.

Our house is very sad tonight. After caring for Abby going on 6 weeks, the mother has told us that she is changing her mind and in a few days we will likely have to give her back.

Thanks for the encouraging messages.

Yes, unfortunatly the mother has all the rights until everything is final. The system is not looking out for the best interest of the child and adoption can be a tough ordeal. I think this and the demand is the reason so many are going overseas now to adopt.

We will know more this afternoon, hopefully good news...

The mother has approached us to see if we want to keep the baby longer while she continues counseling and etc., but still may go through with it. This is important as we may get to keep the baby, but if we give here up, it will be a better situation.

We will meet with her on Sunday, so that means my family can get some much needed recreation in Brookings

Actually Grandpa bought her a shirt tonight at the game and my wife a yellow hoodie sweatshirt.
