The Dakota Cup

I was meandering through the trophy hall before the game tonight and noticed, right by the door, in the same case as the womens D2 bball trophies, a big crystal "Dakota Cup" trophy, all 4 dakota schools were on it.

NDSU won the first year it showed (2006?) and SDSU every year since then.

What is it?

I'd never heard of it.

Fancy trophy. Too bad the other trophy's aren't as fancy. Not a big fan of the plain old rectangularish board with plaque.
