Nice to see some homebrewers going pro. Craft brews arte usually interesting and can be very good. Very much looking forward to trying their products during pregame gatherings this fall.

A Friend and I have been wondering why Brookings never had either. Its a good town for social gatherings more then just a bunch of bars for college kids to drink at. It was about time. If i had time and or money to get it started, that would have been a dream job. Will look forward to checking it out.

Has any one been able to experience either of these places the micro brew, or the brew pub? I am interested to hear what they are like.

The Brew Pub won't open until later this winter. The Heist Microbrewery Beer is good. I'm not a huge beer drinker so I can't describe it as more then I like it. You can get the Heist beer at 6 or 7 places in town now. Hopefully they keep building their brand and can expand their market in the future.

THats pretty cool, how many different beers do they have? 1 or 2 or more? If it takes off in Brookigns i would not be surprised to see it in SF soon.

I had the Heist - Pilot Pale Ale at Cubby's this weekend it was really good. It reminds me a lot of the Boulevard Pale Ale that I really enjoy.

At the SD State Fair this past weekend, I tried both the Pilot Pale Ale and Sure Shot Amber from Heist Brewery. Both were good, but I enjoyed the Sure Shot Amber a little more. I don't see Sure Shot listed on their website anywhere, but I hope that is one that they are continuing to brew.

Definatly looking forward to trying some local craft brew. If these are as good as the Crow Peak beers we will be in for a treat.

Wooden Legs Brewing Co. has a lot of construction going on at their place. The long awaited second floor is being added - drove by yesterday - so maybe they will be opening sooner rather then later in downtown Brookings.

I am looking at the map and trying to remember the exact location. What has been located on this site in the past?
