This started as paragraph two on a seperate thread, but I realized I was drifting so started a new topic. I am still interested in the Title IX question, so if someone could help me with that it would be appreciated.
To the question in the title line............I will continue to be an interested observer as they (USD) complete the transition and become fully eligible. Is there a link that provides info on scholarships offered by sport for the state's universities? I wonder if they have met the three pronged requirements for Title IX yet? If not, poor gate figures only exacerbate meeting that mandate. Stu, as a serious sports editor, could do some serious research and just maybe pen an informed article. He could actually add intellectual value to the department he leads instead of detracting from its credibility with inflammatory swill written (one would hope for his sake), for the sole purpose of getting a few extra hits on the website. A serious person (let alone professional journalist/editor) wouldn't seriously write a piece like Stu's latest offering if they were being serious, right? Coach Nagy can only be thankful that Northern Illinois remains unenlightened to Stu's brilliance.
Has Stu reduced himself to nothing more than a huckster trying to garner attention by using any angle available? This may work in the short run, but even the most avid carnival goer gets tired of the freak show eventually. Stick to SF High School athletics. It is a topic that requires coverage and is fairly straight forward. You can only bank on the obvious, i.e. SF needing a new Arena, for so long. That's as insightful as world peace at this point. When you venture into areas that require research or a deeper level of subject matter expertise, you tend to show your ass as exemplified with the sophomoric effort put forth two weeks ago. IMO, readers deserve better.
