    Re: Josh Ronneck (sp?)

Ranek was unreal! Always fell forward after contact and usually for 3+ more yards. How fast was he? One step faster than whoever was chasing him!

Really a shame his health wasn't better and he went into a team with a star back. He has proven in Canada he is the real deal. It would have been nice to see him get another shot at the NFL.

    BTW-great kid too!

    SUPERBUNNY
    MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, BIZUN!!!

Josh played 44 games, which works out to 11 per season. However I believe and I could be mistaken that he played a game or two his redshirt freshman season and broke his foot or ankle injury or something and got a medical redshirt. If memory serves right, he was the #2 back to the kid from Yankton that was in the same class as Josh, but then the kid from Yankton (name's slipping my mind) screwed up his knee and Josh took over the #1 spot the following year and never gave it up.

Wasn't Josh at state when Stig became the head coach?
Slow your roll a little Joeboo. First of all Josh was never behind anyone on the depth chart that I recall. He played at Cal-Davis to open the 1997 season and that might have been the only time he didn't start when he was healthy. He broke his foot the second game against UND and got his medical. Scott Nedved was two years younger than Josh. You might have thought they were the same age due to the redshirt years, but they weren't. Stig became head coach in December of 1996 and Josh came to campus in August of 1996, so yes to your final question.

Boy a bunch of water has went under the bridge, a good review of the Ranek years. This is enjoyable.

I trying to remember one game in Fargo which I dont think we won, but Ranek had the opportunity to look back at his tacklers more than once as he crossed the goal line, and silenced the cannon and the PA guy at least for a while. Seems like it was kind of a yardage duel between Josh and NDSU guy who went on to play for the St Louis Rams. His name I can not recall either. One of the Bison will surely recall.

What I recall, it was Rock or Zierden(SP). had some big stong fat guys to run behind, a little more clarifcation from those who remember better or were there could help. When the linemen went down, so did his numbers from what my memory serves.

It was Lamar Gordon. We should have won both times in Fargo. Leading at half my senior year (2000) and in 1998 the Bison faithful forced a false start, by previously mentioned Matt Rock, to push Brett Gorden back another 10 yards and we missed the field goal.

If you look at the record books I think one of those games is in the top five for his yardage output. Almost 250 yards.

In 2000 Josh, had only 3 good games to start the year, the only game that season that Matt rock played and started in was the last against Augie and that was Joshes 3rd best game of the year, did not finish well, I think he was injured, but his line was not the same either which I think had a lot to do with it. Not sure about rosters and who else were starting line man those years I can not find the results. 2000 was a down year, but finished 2001 with another great year. Stats and rosters online dont go back far enough to get the whole picture.
