All he did was copy down what Craig Bohl wrote in his notebook after he attended the "Rich Rodriguez School For Coaches Who Have Gotten In Over Their Heads"

It was eerily similar to the gameplan that Bohl drew up for the 2001 Colorado/Nebraska game:

1. Put on shirt THEN pants
2. Put on socks THEN shoes
3. Send 11 guys onto the field

6. Cornhusker VICTORY!!!!!!!!

A few other tips from Coach Bohl:
Land a popular, attractive wife to enhance your status as a local celebrity. It increases job security.
Show football recruits trophys and newspaper clips from the Bison's glory days in D-II.
Avoid playing UND. Play USD instead. Less chance of being upset and humiliated.

Unless a player can match the 5 game ending/deciding interceptions that Mertens threw his first year, I don't see any way a player can feel the heat from the fans that Nick got.
