Why didn't you go to USD?? It seems like you will never like SDSU so why are you here?

Goodness, do any of you people read??????????? I like SDSU!!! That's why I came here. I'm sorry if I chose a SCHOOL for ACADEMIC reasons and not based on whether I supported their athletic teams or not.

The reasons why I chose SDSU over USD:

USD is way too close for my liking.
My mom teaches at USD. That would be awkward.
SDSU gave me plenty of reasons, financially, to attend.
USD doesn't offer my major.
I love SDSU's campus. Awesome.

Good lord, I know this is an athletic forum and I shouldn't be surprised, but most students don't choose a school based on athletic teams.

If busting balls is the written equivalent of kicking somebody in the groin, then I'd say it's a provocation. Is that what you're doing? Or do you mean some other kind of ball busting?

By the way, you have every right to be a fan of whatever team you want. I worked at Oklahoma, but I wasn't an OU fan. I got my master's at Minnesota State, but never was a Mavericks fan. Got my Ph.D. at Iowa... well I'm a Hawkeye fan, but it's the exception that proves the rule.

I can certainly understand growing up a fan of one team and staying a fan. Nothing wrong with that. And yes, this is a smack thread, so smack away. I think it's fun, and it helps us craft stronger arguments for those fans who are persuadable.

I guess I think of ball busting as stuff you joke around with friends or buddies. Not that I consider any of you guys my friends!
I guess when I'm with my friends we make fun of each other about stuff, but we're never really serious or doing it to hurt the other person. Just doing it for a laugh. Sorry about the confusion.

It's not like I don't cheer for SDSU during athletic events. I'll just never cheer for them against USD.

Yes I agree. I think Mr. Observer has explained his situation sufficiently and yep he can cheer for the team of his liking. I had a similar sitution nearly 50 years ago. I would have love to have gone to USD for their accountancy major and program, because SDSU only offered 6 hrs of accounting when I attended. Improvements have been made since then, but still not a major at SDSU.

When you live blocks from the SDSU campus, and are a real marginal student coming out of high school, it hard to convince parents to cosign a note at a local bank and the loan programs were not as abundant so I did not venture to Vermillion to attend USD. I honestly wanted to but did not.

Would I have been a Coyote fan? No especially not in football as it was the darkest of times for that program and SDSU won the NCC three years in a row. Its history now and I can see RabbitObservers choice as one that fits him and no one else. I hope you get the most out of your education at SDSU. You are probably paying for most of it out of your own pocket. Good Luck.

I don't fault anyone for being loyal to a team or school. Hell, I started backing the Cubs and Bears when I was in 2nd grade (figure out that year, JD) and I still support them. RO, you supported the other school as a kid and that is OK, but I admire you had the sense to attend a school that met your needs in regards as the field of study you selected. I am not ashamed that I will always bleed blue and do not hold anything against anyone else who has other allegiences. What pisses me off is when supporters of other schools just want to bad-mouth the school you support and don't want to have intelligent discussions as to the differing philosophies of the schools. This is a common occurrence in the Yankton area...

Dude, quit your crying. I have had a few good exchanges with Rabbit Observer and have not rejected him, contrary to your drama queen description of the situation. (It always seems like you are acting like a drama queen, trying to start up a cat fight no matter which board you are on.) Seriously give it a rest. You would exhaust most women at ladies aid with all your attempts to start up the gossip and cat fighting.
