Good smack deserves acknowledgment. Even self inflicted smack. I know this is smack board, but seriously, is she gone? Is there anyway she can save her job?

Perhaps the website for the UNO message board should be: www.firebelck.com.

Boy they sure do turn on one of their own fast in Omaha:

It sounds to me like they have a different kind of fire in mind.  They must be really close to their money down there.

The Mavs might have to use the wishbone offense this year if they can't get any wide receivers to show up to camp.: : :

Actually, implenting an old-school offensive scheme may boost the UNO program since many Nebraska football fans are still not sold on Coach Callahan's West Coast offense......

In an effort to help our poor little JR. High friends at UNO, I have sent the following item to each of their football coachs by UPS:

I don't think they will be able to find studs that don't want to be found though.....

They probably have bags over their heads?

hahahahaha Perhaps they are in "Sack"remento? hahahahahaha

Nate Prater arrived at football practice Thursday for the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Nate Prater, 6-foot-3 and 261 pounds, is eligible to play right away as a redshirt freshman.

The former Kansas State tight end recruit from Omaha Central became officially enrolled late Wednesday afternoon, and received his release from Kansas State late Thursday morning after UNO's first practice of the day.

He became eligible to practice when he was accepted into school, and became eligible to compete and receive financial aid once the release arrived from K-State.

"I think he's going to be a good addition for us," UNO coach Pat Behrns said. "He will have a chance to play, but how soon we get to that point is going to be a factor."

Prater, 6-foot-3 and 261 pounds, is eligible to play right away as a redshirt freshman. Tight end, though, is one of the few spots on the UNO roster that is unaffected by injury.

Zac Herold is a returning NCAA Division II All-American. Juniors Jake Krause and Brian Hohlen are other veterans at the position.

The Mavericks have been practicing since Aug. 8 and open the season Sept. 2 at home against the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Prater caught 15 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns as a senior in Omaha Central's run-oriented offense. As a junior he had 31 catches for 415 yards.

He redshirted in 2005, then left Kansas State after new coach Ron Prince started fall camp.

Prater was still wavering on his destination late Wednesday night before joining UNO, where he reunites with redshirt freshman running back Robert Wesley, a friend from Central who was one of the Mavs' top recruits last year.

Prater is also the brother of former UNO wide receiver Randy Hopkins.

Though his team is deep at tight end, Behrns could use another healthy offensive lineman or two.

All-North Central Conference tackle Ben Hochstein has been out with a patella tendon injury to his already surgically repaired knee, and rest has been prescribed. His status will be evaluated the week of the season opener.

The other projected starting tackle, Dan Green, hasn't gone through a full practice since spraining his ankle in the first practice. Jake Sjuts, shifted from starting guard to tackle, also has been affected by an ankle injury, as has No. 1 center Aaron Bierman.

The Mavs have been rotating in two true freshmen with the No. 1 unit: Nate Wissink of Lincoln Pius X and Harrison Lingenfelter of Plainview, Neb. Behrns said the 6-foot-4, 265-pound Wissink, in particular, had made strides.

and we got a good group of Tight Ends, and we dont want a D-1 reject who can't cut it.
