Vermillion student candidate for 'The Biggest Loser'

Typically, it’s not cool to be considered a loser. But beginning Wednesday evening, people may be cheering and hoping for Vermillion’s Dru Van Kley to become “The Biggest Loser.”
Van Kley will be part of the season premiere of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser,” a reality TV show that profiles overweight people looking to shed some pounds and change their lives.
Van Kley couldn’t be reached by phone, and representatives from NBC said she couldn’t comment, but the 22-year-old Vermillion woman who says cheese balls are a favorite food, will be South Dakota’s face in a new format that features people from every state hoping to become the one, “Biggest Loser.” . . .
