Re: National Anthem
The "NATIONAL" ANTHEM was meant to be a tribute to our nation, not a bunch of fools running around wearing horned hats. That's the way I look at this "controversy ". Plain and simple. Now, if you do it to irritate Jacks fans, it makes sense, but it's disrespectful of what it was intended for and for whom.

Phelps was extremely respectful of the national anthem, as displayed by his facial expression and tear-filled eyes.
His friends were not - odd that the baffoons sitting in the stands would act this way while the actual achiever is displaying respect.
When his friends acted disrespectfully, in his heightened emotional state, Phelps laughed. It is a natural, emotional, and human response to the situation. Shouting during the national anthem is not natural or emotional behavior. Unless you are sub-human.
Seems pretty clear to me. But then again, I love America.“I used to be with it. But then they changed what it was. Now what I’m with isn’t it, and what’s it seems scary and wierd. It’ll happen to you.” — Abe Simpson
