All other things being equal, I tend to default for the underdog/lower seed in games which don't involve SDSU at the tournament.

Except IPFW, of course. I hate IPFW.

I won't be at all surprised if USD goes into Western Hall and beats the Leathernecks.Heck, UMKC went in there and nearly did it.Now, somebody needs to explain to me how on Earth UMKC managed to beat USD twice, because I just can't quite wrap my head around that. It's kind of like contemplating the sun rising in the west.

There are some night you are pretty darn good. USD and IPFW are the wild cards for sure. UMKC and IUPUI are who we said they were. If an upset is going to occur it will be the yotes or the mammoths that pull it off. Frank Gaines can take over a game.

I won't be cheering for either of them. I don't buy into the "we are all from South Dakota" thing at all and I'm not an underdog guy either. That said, please come to the games and cheer for whatever team you want to. Its a great experience for the student athletes.

I sided with USD, because of the championship plus they are from South Dakota. Almost picked WIU because they have had problems and I have respect for Molenari, also because Louie Krogman is such a twitter dick. BTW--both are in two of America's most depressing (along with Warrensburg, MO) college towns.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if USD loses to WIU and UMKC beats IUPUI, they will be tied in the conference and by virtue of UMKC's two wins over the USD it would make the pups the 8th seed.

So, if WIU loses we win the regular season outright. If WIU wins we get to play the red-headed stepchild in SF. This might be my sadomasochistic side coming out but I'm kind of hoping WIU and UMKC win tonight setting up a USD/SDSU matchup on Saturday. Nothing would be more appropriate then the Jacks sending their sorry butts home early in their first conference tournament. There, I said it.
