How could I have forgotten this one:

It's The End Of The World As We Know It

      Which naturally goes with:

      Losing My Religion

        Aw, hell. One more R.E.M.:

        Everybody Hurts

        (I really hate that one . . .)

As long as we're considering R.E.M.: The initial post in this thread reminds me of the R.E.M. song -- at least the title and a line from the song -- "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?"

Beware of those wearing tin-foil hats.

Does everyone know the source for the line "What's the frequency, Kenneth"? From the Wikipedia article on the song: "The title of the song is not original to the band, which Buck explains in the liner notes to In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988–2003. It refers to an incident in New York City in 1986, where news anchor Dan Rather was the victim of an unprovoked attack by one or two assailants who, between beatings, would ask, "what's the frequency, Kenneth?"" I met Dan Rather twice while a journalism student at SDSU but that was the middle 70s, ten years before the mugging in which he failed to answer the seminal question, the inspiration for the song title. I always wondered if Dan knew the frequency but refused to disclose it. Could it be that he was upset they didn't have his correct name?

I always thought one of the assailants was named Kenneth. No wonder the FBI never solved the crime.

Proof that some SDSU fans took a few classes at NDSU.

                        .

A little obfuscation was needed to clarify this thread.
