Look for the Saints to get 10 roughing the passer flags on the first 9 rushing plays.
I am, basically, tired of the Vikings (more specifically, I'm tired of Childress). I think Childress cost the Vikings a trip to the Super Bowl (but I'm fine with that because he would've lost to the Colts, had it come to that).
So, I hope this doesn't come across as me trying to "but" my way out of some truly lousy play by the Vikings during the championship game, BUT the hit where Favre sprained his ankle was unacceptable. The Saints should've been penalized for that.
And if the end result is that the Saints are forced to treat Favre like he's made out of bone china on the opening weekend, I'm fine with that.
Not to revive a old thread but El Moron (Childress) is in a no-win situation.
'Cos...
A. If he starts Jackson and they lose (which they will), he'll lose any respect he has left in the locker room.
OR
B. And if he starts Farve, the Patriot defense will aim straight that ankle of his and Farve could very well get injured to where he may not ever play again (Gawd, I hope that happens) and the Vikings lose any hope at all.
Childress is a stone cold mother lovin' 24 carat gen-you-ine idiot.
Most important game of the season. Period. They lose this one and it's all over. Might as well pull the starters and play the scrubs the rest of the season.
Most important game of the season and Favre is a 'game time decision'.
Excuse me?
Are TJack and Favre so interchangeable that you can just drop TJack behind center and the offense will just click?
That's as idiotic as the notion that he'd put a 41 year old man under center with a broken foot.
------
But, seriously, why on EARTH should I be surprised by any idiocy displayed by Childress? Should I, at this point, be utterly inured to the man's brainlessness?
Should I just expect that (with few exceptions) every decision he makes will be worse than the one he made before?
At this point, I think Brewster would be a better coach.
As I sit back and look at things from the perspective of a 49ers fan, I can only remember with fondness of the days when we had the problems the Vikings have. NFC Championship game last year, picked to do very well this year, but the old star qb is injured and making the year a question mark.
Really now, what was Childress supposed to do? Favre was unbelievably good last year. Better than anyone ever thought he could be and while his last past was not a good one, there were many things that other players did/didn't do that should never have put them in that spot.
So the year ends and everyone thinks Favre wants to come back and no one really believes Favre had a seriously injured ankle. With that, was the Vikings' front office supposed to go get another front line QB? Remember they went and got Favre because they didn't think they had a QB that could take them all the way.
Now Favre comes back, like everyone expected he would, and Rice is not there, Harvin has serious health issues that you know you can't count on him from week to week, the front office let Chester Taylor go, the defense has had some real problems in large part because the stud rookie cornerback (who has all the makings of multiple pro-bowls) has had 2 knee surgeries since the last exhibition game.
Until this year, the Vikings have won more games each year that Childress has been coach. So why I am I so worked up over this? No NFL Coach is more like Brewster than Singletary! Talk, talk, talk, rah, rah, rah, blah, blah, blah. One win over a team that has it #1 QB out right before you play them. Lots of talk, no a lot of wins. Blame the players (Brewsters 1st year, Singletary's first year). Blame the coordinators (Brewster every year but the first year, Singletary after his first year and right on into the second year). You may not have the best coach in the NFL, but he in no way comes close to winning the Best Brewster Imitation award.
You can't teach an old dog new tricks, but you can never teach a stupid dog anything.
Tell the team (if not the media) that Favre isn't playing, and act accordingly. Prep the team to work with TJack under center and give them at least a fighting chance Sunday.

Sorry, I thought you could tell from the last paragraph that the whole post was a joke about Brewster (U of MN coach that just got fired) and Mike Singletary, the 49ers coach, having more in common than Brewster does with the Vikings coach. Oh and BTW, TJack has had by far the most work of any of the Vikings QB's this week.

At least if the Vikings had Brewster they'd have a coach that could *talk* a good game.
