Mauer (stress reaction in leg) caught three innings in a minor league game on Wednesday, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a run-scoring double, reports the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "(Mauer was) a little rusty swinging," manager Ron Gardenhire joked. "He only hit a home run and a double. He's a little rusty, but he'll get there." Mauer is scheduled to play in another minor league game on Thursday.
Looks like Mauer is healing from his stress fracture, which is good news for any Twins fan. This should be another good year for the Twins, if their pitching holds up. 8O
