With the NFL preseason about to begin, here is a question for the board: Who is set up to have the better career - Robert Griffin III or Andrew Luck, and why?
My vote: Luck. I think he comes in more suited to the NFL style, and he has a nominally better offensive line that will at least keep him upright. And in a weird way I think Luck can relax because the mantra has been you can't expect him to be Peyton Manning on opening day. Expectations are lower.
The hype and expectations for RG3 are through the roof, in part because Washington fans are that way, in part because they have been starved for a good QB for so long. There are fans here who think he is an automatic Super Bowl ticket. But the Washington offensive line was bad to start with and has been decimated by injuries, and it is so bad it may get this kid hurt and gun-shy. He may run for 1,000 yards some year but you still have to throw and catch the ball to be successful in the NFL.
