I didn't realize Jordan Boots was on USD's roster. I watched him play some in high school and he seemed like a DII/NAIA player to me. But that's why I'm sitting here on Saturday afternoon watching NFL football.

An interesting question I always had about coaches kids. Do they usually/always get scholarships? What kind of conflict of interest is there when that happens? How do boosters react?

IIRC, Jordan is a walk on. He wants to be a coach and decided that watching his Dad in a now D1 environment was a better way to go than some of the small school offers he had. He certainly has made the most of it as his game has really improved.

Also, at some schools, kids of employees attend for free or greatly reduced costs. Anyone know if this is the case for state schools here in SD?

Also mitchell, you forgot Adam Tempelton at Drake.

Jordan Boots is on scholarship this year (they only had 10 or 11 on scholarship this year) actually Jordan has played a lot better then I ever thought he would, I've talked to some guys who go to a lot of their games and have said he has looked as good as Louie this year....

There is no reduction in tuition or fees for children of faculty or any other employees at SD state schools

BoR employee's kids used to get a break, when did they stop that?

A long time ago. I have worked for SDSU 36 years and I don't ever remember employees kids getting a break.
