That just show how crazy this game can be. I predicted Cal Poly to win 31-13 and didn't figure there was any way that USD was going to hang 50 on their defense. Being inconsistant as the Yotes have been can have it's downs but can also have some high points as well. Your team gave Minnesota one heck of a fight so I will congradulate your team on a good effort in Minnesota today. I watched the game. Minnesota gets USD next year and maybe the Yotes can give them a reasonable battle as well. I think if Minnesota had to actually go on the road and face some of the FCS teams they would pick up even more losses against them (FCS). I honestly believe that if Minnesota played a round robin vs the Missouri Valley like SDSU does that the Gophers would not win the conference and might not even finish second. I feel if the teams played a home and home at each place SDSU wins about 60% of the time. I am not meaning this as a knock against SDSU but if your quarterback play would have been better you would have definately won that game.

Well, given that our quarterback was a RS freshman, it's a good bet that the play at that position will improve over the next couple of years.

They lost alot of their offense from last season. Just having Barden on the field was huge for them. He took 2 defenders on every play. I tend to want to give the Yotes a little credit as they still had to get the job done. Ironically for the entire great west schedule USD was involved in both road wins. Lost at home to Davis, won at Poly. That is really odd for USD football. All other games had the home teams hold serve.

seemed no one in the great west wanted to seperate as the team to beat. everyone beating each other up and no clear winner or bottom feeder. Good for USD to get a close game to go their way this time. would be cool to have teams from the MVFC and GW play a few teams each year in the non confrence part of the schedule.

That's a good win for USD. They've had some ups and downs this year, but you can't argue that it isn't a big deal to go to Cal Poly and come away with a win. When we beat them there in 2006, it was a pretty important win for us.

The only two problems for USD are that Shepard is graduating and their defense still needs to become more physical. But they're making progress.

I was wondering what happened to Poly after the UND loss. I knew they had no passing attack but should still have been able to win games with that defense and running game. Maybe SloStang can come on and confirm this but I heard that they've been pretty decimated by injuries.

though SDSU played pretty darn bad in there game against Cal Poly.... that Cal Poly was a playoff contendor.... not going to knock USD and UND for beating Cal Poly but clearly it wasn't the same Cal Poly that SDSU played.....
