Remember Robert Duvall in that movie? It was a true story! Here's an excellent story on ESPN "Outside the Lines" about the guy who wrote "The Great Santini" (about his mean-as-a-rattlesnake dad). Interesting connection with the Citadel where the author played basketball and his cousin is now the coach.
