Very interesting stuff there (link courtesy Kolpack & Hallstrom's blog).
Douple, quite clearly, wants nothing to do with the UND nickname issue.
It would be interesting if Chicago State & "You-Dot" got in the Summit (to pick another school frequently mentioned in Summit discussions) and UND didn't.

Know why Florida State got to keep the Seminoles nickname? Because they have a longstanding relationship with the Seminole tribe.
Know why UND is in trouble? Because they, collectively, felt they could take whatever they wanted from the Sioux, with no consideration whatsoever.
But me no buts about how it's just a name. Frankly, if Notre Dame was established by a group of Italian Catholics the name Fighting Irish would be just as offensive.
The Sioux tribes in ND got no say whatsoever in what went on at UND, and I'm happy to see that the shoe's on the other foot, and now, UND keeps the nickname only if the tribes want them to keep it.
Granted, it doesn't do beans for the overall problems native americans face, but it at least takes the UND brass down a peg.
