Baylor 116, Texas A&M 110 in FIVE OVERTIMES!!
Here's the story from the Houston Chronicle:
COLLEGE STATION — At one point, it appeared Baylor had overcome its issues. At another, it appeared the Texas A&M Aggies had overcome theirs.
Then Baylor overcame again. And the Aggies followed. This back-and-forth, up-and-down pattern went on for about an hour after the game should have ended.
By the end, Aggies and Bears (and some journalists, too) locked arms and sang We Shall Overcome.
OK, that didn't really happen. (We tried to start a chorus, but most had lost faith that either team would overcome, and some had forgotten what was there to be overcome.)
In the end, all were overcome by overtime — five of them to be exact — in one of the wackiest games in NCAA history.
It took five overtimes for Baylor to top A&M 116-110 on Wednesday night in the first meeting between the teams in which each was ranked.
