Man those were worse then they made them sound on the news...... I do agree that funny shirts are one thing but personal ones and offensive ones have no place.....

Too bad USD didn't figure this out many years ago! If they had, maybe I (and lots of other people) wouldn't be so adamant about severing that relationship for a good, long time. And, furthermore it was going on when the current president was there, so I don't see the administration's position being much better these days.

Too bad USD didn't figure this out many years ago! If they had, maybe I (and lots of other people) wouldn't be so adamant about severing that relationship for a good, long time. And that administration could have done something but purposefully did not.

Oh, they told them not wear them to the game. That was it. When everyone had them on, not a damn thing was done. This obviously would show the class of the administration also. The real clincher for me was when the U. was winning the game (and deservedly so) the courtside viewers (probably the larger doners) were holding up signs "Hate State". These were not kids, but adults...

On a different occasion (not the vividly pornographic t-shirts worn by the students), with a "hate State" theme, the ticket takers (employees of the University) were wearing the t-shirts. Enough said, I guess...but they will definitely get a rude awakening if they expect to get into any worthwhile D-1 Conference without correcting that kind of behavior.

Good point, Jacks#1Fan. USD, however, won't really have any chances to misbehave that badly because they won't have any rivalries (other than UND...perhaps) once they begin D-I play. Regardless, I still am rooting for the BS Conference to welcome USD and UND with open arms...

Not picking on your reply, but I believe they said they would prefer no one wear them to the game, but we can't do anything to anyone that does. They didn't even go to the point of saying not to wear them. A reason that more than a few people told me was why they did **not** vote for Abbot as it showed lack of character.

Edit: forgot the word not in that last sentence, which makes a big difference. sorry about that.

Not picking on your reply, but I believe they said they would prefer no one wear them to the game, but we can't do anything to anyone that does. They didn't even go to the point of saying not to wear them. A reason that more than a few people told me was why they did vote for Abbot as it showed lack of character.

Thanks for the clarification. I couldn't recall the exact wording, but you are probably correct. Whatever was said, it just started the frenzy.

That was indeed crude, but it was the charicatures on the back of the shirt showing an unmentionable act that was downright the worst thing I have ever seen by any school anywhere. It caused the publisher of a nearby weekly newspaper to run an editorial which said among other things that he would never take his kids to a USD football game again. Now it's time for me to forget this thread, as there is not much more to be said.
