    USD's Volante Paper on McNeese

    Here's a link to the story from today in the USD student newspaper, the Volante, on the McNeese matchup set for 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Lake Charles, LA. Mierkort appears to speak with the correct amount of caution. If I was a bettin' man, I'd say McNeese will have them 21-0 at the halftime.

    It should be intersting to see how the Argus writes the preview tomorrow morning. My feelings are that USD will move the ball better than expected, but will be done in ultimately by a more talented and deep McNeese team. McNeese will score at will. McNeese 49 - USD 21.

      McNeese lead 21-0 at half. USD took opening second half drive for TD. 21-7.

                What I noticed in the stats time of possesion was 36 min to 24 for McNeese. They controlled the ball for 12 more minutes and got scoring production, like 24 more that USD could manufacture. I know most yote fans will insist that USD shot themselves in the foot.

                They have said McNeese is improved over last year, but judging from our two past games, SDSU has improved too. I think we could do similar to the Yotes if we played next week. The explosive offense works only against D2 teams and that apparently was evident tonight. Also road games do count, as do turnovers.
