  • Wright St Upset in Horizon Tourney

Upsets happen in March, Scott Nagy's Wright State Raiders get spanked by UIC. Wright State was the 1 seed and had a great season. Might be decent in the NIT.

I think read that the Horizon #1 seed has lost in their first game of the tournament 4 of the last 5 years. Great season by Nagy and Co, but I know that at one point in the season not too long ago, Wright State had the worst strength of schedule in the nation.

March is brutal. Double bye to the semifinals. Two wins to the tournament and they get drilled by the four seed. Being a Mid-Major is hard. Especially when many judge your season on if you made the tournament or not........

      Go Rabbits!

It happened again to Wright State (#2 seed). They lost to Milwaukee in overtime. Also Cleveland State (#1 seed) went into 3 overtimes against Purdue Fort Wayne but ended up winning. All quarterfinal games were decided by 4 points or less tonight in the Horizon League Tournament. Crazy stuff!

You are missing the big Wright St story line of blowing a 24 point lead in the last 6 minutes.

Sounds like turnovers and missed FTs were a substantial influence in outcome (and Coach Nagy was a class act afterward despite disappointment)

Coach Nagy and staff have had a good run at Wright State.

              Disappointed to hear they lost.

Even harder to believe when you add in that the quarterfinals are played at the higher seeds. So Wright State was playing on their home floor.
