OK, this topic has been brought up on a couple of smack threads and is worthy of a reasonable discussion. Despite a 9-1 record and a win over I-AA stalwart Northern Iowa, UND only received a #3 seed for the regional playoffs and was denied a bye week. Meanwhile UNO receives the #2 seed and a bye despite only beating UND by one point and suffering solid defeats at the hands of USD and Northwest Missouri State.
UND has gained national attention from the sports media due to its lawsuit over the "Fighting Sioux" monniker and its injunction over the weekend. Did the NCAA decide to enact revenge by denying UND a #2 seed and a bye?
