Kansas City Star article:
Kansas State University students meant it as a prank, tossing live chickens on the basketball court when the Wildcats met the University of Kansas Jayhawks last week.
But university officials were not taking it lightly.
“These acts cannot and will not be condoned or tolerated,” K-State President Jon Wefald wrote in a letter to K-State fans. He said university policy considers live animals, except guide dogs, at athletic events to be contraband and having them would result in being removed from the event and in possible prosecution.
