PALMDALE, Calif. (AP) -- University of Montana cornerback Jimmy Wilson was charged with murder after being accused of shooting a man during an altercation earlier this month.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department told the Antelope Valley Press of Palmdale that Wilson was in custody Wednesday. A deputy, Kelly Simon, identified Wilson as a Montana football player...

Some (but not many) U of Montana fans were less than charitable to their "friends" at Montana State U a few weeks ago when MSU's coach was fired in the wake of news of former MSU football players being arrested on drug charges. Now, well...tough news.

I hope we don't begin to encounter problems like the Montana schools have. Keeping guys like Stig and Nagy around should help prevent that although there have been issues with men's basketball recently. It appears both Montana schools are doing their best to get control of a potentially messy situation.

The Montana schools' choices in athletes shows that they(the schools) don't care a lot about the character of these kids off the field. Only how they perform on the field.

Sorry, I take some offense to your attempt at humor. It is never fair to the student-athletes (anyone really) or those universities to make blanket statements. I have met some of the people at both school. We can learn alot from them. These unfortunate events can happen anywhere.
