No miracle for Otz in his first Mountain West tournament like he pulled in his first year in Sioux Falls. Lost to the five seed in the first round.

UNLV lost to Montana State yesterday. It was David Jenkins Jr debut. He ended up with 7 points on 2-9 shooting playing 29 minutes and fouling out. Caleb Grill had 13 points on 3-8 shooting (all from 3).

Love it! Little defense from a TJ coached team. That's not too surprising.

According to the article, Jenkins is playing PG. Not sure that is the best way to take advantage of the strong points of his game.

DJJ was always able to get his share of turnovers. He led the Jackrabbits in turnovers his sophomore year. PG would seem to enhance that stat. Also, he would not need to share with any of those guys padding stats with assists. He only took 9 shots, 3 assists, and 1 TO in 29 minutes. That will likely change.

Jenkins had a nice game (18 pts) until he fouled out on a touchy foul with 4 mins left. He’ll be ok.

This is not good news. I hope he recovers. I think Otz did a great job at SDSU.

Watched the UNLV and Utah State game last night. Really makes me appreciate the number of good shooters SDSU has and the way we share the ball. Both teams shot 32% for the game and were hovering around 16% for the second half late in the game. Grill hit some later 3's to seal the win. Jenkins was 4-13.

Based on what you have reported the Jenkins transfer may have been a plus for SDSU basketball. DJJ talent may have peaked and may not be the big plus for UNLV that everyone thought. Grill performance sounds impressive. We may have missed some good talent there.
